Brushing Scam Identified

First: A brushing scam is an e-commerce fraud tactic where a seller sends unsolicited, inexpensive packages to real people using their stolen or publicly available name and address. The goal is to manipulate online marketplace algorithms by generating fake "verified" orders and posting fraudulent positive reviews in the recipient's name to boost product ratings and visibility.

Your Advocate's mother-in-law experienced some erroneous transactions using her credit card. After investigating the transactions, Your Advocate identified the activity as brushing scam activities. The credit card company was contacted immediately and the credit card was closed on the spot. In addition, the transactions/funds were reversed.
